Task 1

Topic   : Does modern technology make life more convenient, or was life better when technology was simpler? There may be advantages and disadvantages of technology, especially computers in life.

-          People must know what is good and bad from computer to life

The Impacts of Computer in life

            In modern area there are so many change in technology aspect, especially computer. It made a very vital impact in life. It has changed the way of life. The use of computer technology has affected every field of life. However any problem also base on internal computer. The computer user that notably a worker must know that computer has good impacts and bad impacts.

            There are some impacts can represent bad and good impact from computer. Computer become part of life human and has important function to make simple jobs in any time. Computer already done with variety device that related to office works like Microsoft word, excel, and Power Point. For example many company use the computer to keep record and maintain the data in Microsoft Word, user only need to give instruction to save or solve the problem. It can makes job faster and easier than before. According to and editor and freelance, one advantage to computers making decisions is that you will have decisions made faster and more accurately than a human brain, which may get hung up with different factors involving the decision, leading to slower overall results (Crystal Vogt). Beside the benefit, computer also has negative impact. The bad impact that must knowing people is using computer will wastage time and energy, people just use computer to chatting in not important things and children sometime use computer to playing game until not knowing time. That activity will make body feel tired and not healthy. A freelance editor, natural scientist, and cosmopolitan with a strong interest in sustainability says, “Working on the computer is as unhealthy a job as you can imagine” (Tina Sieber).

            There are so many other impacts from computer, but the people as user must knowing good and bad to life. They must understand the influences. The computer is makes many things become easier. However there are some difficulties or problem from computer itself. So, the user has responsibility to using carefully the computer.

Task 2

The Incidence, Mortality and Survival of Lung Cancer in England

            According to the graph from Office for National Statistic, smoking has connection with lung cancer. Smoking is strongly increases risk of developing lung cancer but in 1974, the percentage of males smoking cigarettes around 51% habitual smoker, 26% of men smoked 20 cigarette per day. It’s decrease until 2011 become 21% because only 6% smoked 20 cigarette per day. That percentage has similarity with females smoking that also decrease from 1974 only 13% of women smoked 20 cigarette per day from 41% female smoker, decrease in 2011 only 6% women smoking 20 cigarette per day. So, in 2011 there are 19% female smoker. There are different from the percentage of smoking user and  the statistic of lung cancer incidence and mortality rates, amount of lung cancer for male is many than women because the smoker cigarette majority is men but every years mortality and lung cancer suffered by male is decrease and women is increase. From the statistic to male, incidence and mortality in 1971 until 1987 just little up and down because the rate only 100 until 90 male. It has big decrease beginning from 1987 to 2011 that rate totally go down every years around 90 decrease to 60 for incidence and 90 rate decrease to 50 for mortality. the male statistic is dissimilar with women statistic that increase the lung cancer incidence and mortality every years, from 1975 to incidence the population only 20 and increase 40 until 2011, to mortality also same and increase every years from 1975 only 20 become 30 rate. It’s many increase then before. If both of them have percentage, the result is men 48% decrease in incidence, 55% decrease in mortality and the women 105% increase in incidence, 76% increase in mortality. There are information from that statistic if every rate consist of 100.000 population. The survival of lung cancer is amongst the lowest of all cancer, more than the people with lung cancer will passed away than survive. The graph give us information that 2007 until 2012 for adults in aged 15 until 99 years diagnosed with lung cancer 10% survival for male and 13% survival for female.
